The Two-Chart System

Two Charts, One Life

One chart for the internal world, one for the external world we live in.

My approach is unique in using two natal charts – The Inner Chart, which describes the internal world, and the Outer Chart, which describes the external world we live in. This, in itself, creates more complexity. Finding Aspect Figures only active in one or both charts adds additional depth.

I.

The Inner Chart

The internal world

The inner wiring – how the urges and energies are first put together and experienced. This aspect map describes the form of linkage between the Central Core and the planet, as imbued by the Signs. This is one's natural orientation, before familial or societal shaping.

II.

The Outer Chart

The external world

The external life; the life lived in the world. The interaction with that world; what the world offers and expects. The options and opportunities available as one moves forward.

The Inner Chart

Go Deeper

First Level

The Inner Chart offers a somewhat psychological view of the individual — the INNER-PSYCHOLOGICAL – “I WILL” CHART. It includes the planets and North Node as aspected points and focuses on the internal life of the individual, illustrating the inner wiring and how it explains internal functioning.

  • Includes the zodiac sign placement for each planet.

  • De-emphasizes house placements (houses describe the external world).

  • Treats the North Node as a concept tied to the Soul’s evolutionary path.

  • Uses variable aspect orbs as found in the Huber Method.

SECOND Level — CHART EXAMPLE & NOTES

INNER CHART — JOSEPH CAMPBELL

  • The five levels of the chart are shown correctly; the houses are de-emphasized.

  • The aspect map is pronounced; the aspected points are clearly shown.

  • The North Node is aspected; the Ascendant and Midheaven are not.

  • The ego planets are shown in red, highlighting their importance.

The Outer Chart

Go Deeper

First Level

The Outer Chart describes the external world the individual interacts with — the OUTERWORLDLY – “I MUST” CHART. It illustrates both what the outer world expects (the “I MUST”) and how the person functions in the external world, with a strong emphasis on the houses.

  • Uses the planets, Moon, Ascendant and Midheaven as aspected points.

  • Shows the North Node (no aspects) and Chiron (no aspects).

  • Shows the houses in explicit detail — critical to the external analysis.

  • Uses more generally accepted aspect orbs.

SECOND Level — CHART EXAMPLE & NOTES

chart-joseph-campbell-outer.jpg

OUTER CHART — JOSEPH CAMPBELL

  • The houses are emphasized and shown in true geometric sizes (unequal house system).

  • The aspect map is prominent; aspects to the Ascendant and Midheaven are clearly shown.

  • The North Node and Chiron are placed but not used as aspected points.

  • Ignore the program “glitch” where the Ascendant appears to aspect the Midheaven.
