HIGHLIGHTS OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE WITH MY TWO-CHART SYSTEM FOR DOLLY PARTON

 

The Inner Chart shows both Neptune and Pluto as unaspected, whereas, in the Outer Chart, they are part of a Talent Triangle, which is part of a Model Figure, found in only the Outer Chart. As the case study below describes, the way that those planets can function in the chart when unaspected seemed pertinent in this case. This is a good example of how having variable, and mostly tighter, aspect orbs in the Inner Chart of my Two-Chart System can provide details of value that would, otherwise, not be available. 

 

The Inner Chart is dominated by the Model Figure. That Model Figure describes how her life force Sun, as apex, and directly connected to her Venusian talents, was focused on using the potent zero-degree Virgo Moon as a powerful and emotional foundation that focused on using pragmatic and meticulous ways to utilize her talents and relationships. All that talent, with the Talent Triangle and Venus/Sun, were directed toward finding pathways for the life force to meet its dharma. 

 

A separate part of the Inner Chart described the linear relationship between the use of her creative intelligence (Uranus), and her driving force to structure her ambition, (Mars/Saturn), both linearly linked to Mercury, as chart ruler. This illustrated the straight-forward use of her mental abilities to think out and learn the structuring process required to implement the creative ingenuity to build upon her ambitions. Internally, this was simply how these tools were wired to work together. 

 

When we look at the Outer Chart, we see how internally unaspected Uranus and Mercury become part of a new Model Figure, that includes Neptune and Pluto. Chart ruler Mercury is the apex planet. Pluto becomes the apex of a powerful Talent Triangle, that creative, elevated and angular Uranus and charismatic, highly intuitive and sensitively aesthetic Neptune feed talent and information into. The theme involves apex Mercury learning how to utilize those talents and then communicate to the world the results of that learning process. As a four-sided figure, those talents, and results would build upon themselves and utilize the capabilities of all those planets in Capricorn to use the ever-growing base of talent and resources that were created to build successful results in multiple ways that incorporated both business and philanthropy. 

 

The T-Square in the Outer Chart that holds the Sun/Venus in opposition to Mars/Saturn, with both square to 2nd house Jupiter as apex planet, illustrates the drive to the personal achievement of building resources, and additional drive to build improvement to elements of society through the use of those ever-expanding resources. The new Outer Chart Model Figure involved tools that fed Parton’s 

life force desire, illustrated by the T-Square, to utilize involvement in her physical world to affect the desired results. The presence of the T-Square only in the Outer Chart illustrates how this externally focused energy was initiated and created externally, based on the use of elements of the inner wiring that were described in the Inner Chart. She developed herself, so that she could then form and develop the vision of her creative urges in the outer world she found her internally developed Self working in.

 

There is a clear distinction between the internal purposes of the Sun/Venus, which are centered on the life path of the Sun/Venus, and the external world purposes, where the Sun/Venus purposes are centered on the T-Square drive for achievement, which built the external world structures that achieved that life path.

 

 DOLLY PARTON CASE STUDY

 

Dolly Parton is a global icon, Grammy-winning and Academy Award-nominated American country singer, songwriter, composer, author, actress and philanthropist. She is best known for pioneering the interface between country and pop music styles. She rose from poverty in a one-room cabin to become the “Queen of Country”. She has sold over 100 million records, composed over 3000 songs, and authored numerous books. She starred in films like “9 to 5”, further cementing her iconic status. She has built a $650+ million business empire anchored by her fiercely protected music catalog and strategic brand licensing. Her brilliant monetization blends shrewd intellectual property ownership, the multibillion-dollar “Dollywood” theme park, and values-driven brand extensions ranging from baking mixes to homeware. Her business mastery carries over to her philanthropy. Her “Imagination Library” has mailed over 200 million free books to children worldwide. She has donated millions to medical research and provides scholarships in her home county.

 

Both Neptune and Pluto are unaspected planets in Parton’s Inner Chart. An unaspected Neptune may manifest as heightened aesthetic sensitivity and strong ideals. It can signify an exceptionally vivid imagination, offering the potential to bring visionary ideas to life. An unaspected Pluto in the natal chart can suggest prominence, power, and influence. Both of these attributes seem to be working in Parton’s life. The Inner Chart has a vertical direction. Uranus is angular in Gemini at the Midheaven. One focus of her use of Uranus to express her individuality, her creative genius, is her voice, using it to communicate her ideas and talents. That focus helped to successfully create recognition and success in the external world. That voice comes out in both singing and the written word. Another unique talent is her business acumen. She built her success with fierce independence, empathy, intelligent understanding of intellectual property management, and unique authenticity. Uranus is quincunx to, and ruled by, Mercury, the chart ruler in Capricorn. That quincunx highlights the complex dance between her grounded and traditional business mind, her way of thinking things out, and her quick and innovative creative mind. The Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Capricorn are all ruled by Saturn. The Saturn/Mars conjunction is in Cancer has Saturn in its detriment, and precisely conjunct Mars in its fall. All the potential for ruthless and/or manipulative energy is turned to softer uses of ways to use her energy and her concepts of responsibility. It still carries relentless drive and ambition, resulting in prolific productivity, but there was also a strong focus on protecting family, philanthropy and community-building efforts. Saturn/Mars gave her the pragmatic ability to endure hard times and overcome early life poverty. In the Inner Chart, Mercury is in a linear opposition to Mars/Saturn. Mercury is also in a simple linear relationship with Uranus. There was an inner need to use her creative intelligence, together with her drive for structure and success, in ways that utilized her abilities to structure her mental function of thinking and learning. This thinking and structuring process was a driving force. Internally the linear wiring involved a straightforward process of mental development. All the planets dispose into the cycle from Mercury to Saturn to the Moon. Action and activity in Parton’s life involved a focus on communication, provided with structure and carrying meaning and emotion.

 

There is a Model Figure in the Inner Chart. The Sun/Venus conjunction is in high focus as a tension planet in the Inner Chart and also carries that focus and theme as the apex planet in the Inner Chart Model Figure. Placed at 29 degrees Capricorn, the Sun is driven by ambition and the need for achievement. The approach of the life force is colored by its attachment to Venusian attributes, which include using and building upon her ample talent and resources. She developed her artistic talent in a multitude of ways. She utilized her attraction to the public. She focused her life force into a passionate hyper-feminine aesthetic. The energy generated by Sun/Venus in opposition to Saturn/Mars, softened by Saturn ruling the Sun, gave Parton the grit to write thousands of songs, build an entertainment empire, and maintain a grueling, decades-long career without burning out.

 

Sun/Venus is the focal apex of the Model Figure in the Inner Chart. They are square to Jupiter in Libra and quincunx to the North Node, also critically placed at 29 degrees Gemini. Together, these planets create a Dominant Learning Triangle as part of the Model Figure. The Moon at zero degrees Virgo occupies the fourth point in the Model Figure and is the apex point for a Talent Triangle that includes Jupiter and the North Node. The Model Figure in the Inner Chart describes how Parton was internally wired to utilize her life force (Sun) in combination with her emotional need (Moon) to develop her talents in ways that would fulfill her destiny, her life path (North Node).

 

This is the focus of Sun/Venus, as the focus of the Model Figure in the Inner Chart. Sun/Venus fulfills its purpose in the Inner Chart Model Figure by using what she created from the substance and resources of the Talent Triangle. That inner wiring purpose was then able to be utilized in the external world by focusing her on the road to individuation, to her career and public image, as well as achieving the financial security and success that the quadrangular figure and that Sun/Venus need. Once that financial security was found, and the ambitious goals were met, through the building of the purposes of the Model Figure through time, the humanitarian side of that angular Uranus would open her world up to philanthropy.

 

With the Sun/Venus as the apex and theme point of the Model Figure, Parton felt it would serve her karmic path to optimize her potential to reach her ambitious personal goals. Those goals involved not only meeting her security needs, but achieving recognition, success, and financial independence. With Venus in Capricorn conjunct the Sun, it was natural to utilize her beauty, attraction to others, her abilities to relate, and her talents, to further the life force purposes. The Model Figure is structured to have the apex planet, here the Sun/Venus, utilize the talent, resources and relationships found in the Talent Triangle. That zero degrees Virgo Moon, as Talent Triangle apex, is a highly potent Moon placement, suggesting an emotional foundation focused on using meticulous care and practicality in finding and using her talents. Parton has a desire to nurture things, using pragmatic approaches in building that talent base, as well as with her need to emotionally nurture her relationship with specific others and the public at large. She wants to be of service to herself and others. The placement also directly aligns with the “royal” fixed star Regulus, which is famously linked to success and honors. The development of talent and resources, as well as development of the life force purposes, are enhanced by working with the learning cycles available in two learning triangles.

 

The Moon’s initial focus in furthering Parton’s purposes by adding to her talent and resources, involved a practical emotional need to build security and structure her life responsibly. The Moon’s ruler, Mercury, in Capricorn, describes how Parton used her mind and abilities to communicate and interact with people to build that responsible structure. She was also approaching her career with emotional practicality. Jupiter in Libra, in its role as Talent Triangle rim planet, enjoys connecting with others. It also uses its mental senses and higher mind abilities to provide ways for that practical Moon to add to the resources and talent available to Parton. Jupiter offered optimism and luck in Parton’s process of building relationships, as well as her relationship to the society she found herself in. That somewhat pragmatic Moon was offered lots of substance in its strong need to deliver security initially. Early, she simply wanted to escape poverty and pursue a successful career. Later there were many other factors in play. The Moon was always enhancing its talents and goals with Jupiter at one rim. The North Node described the critical need to emotionally rely on logic, organization and practicality to reach the goal of personal development, increased individuation, and professional success, with its 10th house placement at 29 degrees Gemini. The North Node is directly placed on an “Aries Point” or World Point at zero degrees Cancer. The global recognition that Parton received clearly illustrates both the accuracy of that positon and the achievement of that success. Communicating those concepts to the Moon helped to focus the Moon on what was available to achieve that karmic need. 

 

Everything was being learned and developed to meet the purposes of the Sun/Venus, and the Sun/Venus was always seeking more. That Capricorn Sun was very ambitious. The learning figures worked to help achieve the desires of the Sun/Venus by finding solutions to the disruptions that Jupiter’s desire for enhancement triggered the Sun/Venus to seek. Those disruptions are illustrated by the Jupiter square to Sun/Venus. With the Dominant Learning Triangle, previous enhancements to the evolutionary life path had been accomplished and Jupiter trine North Node was at rest. Some new enhancement to the never-ending reach to increase the purposes and reach of the Sun would create the disruption. A way would need to be found that would be acceptable to both her understanding of her dharma and increase the benefic contributions that her Venusian ruled Jupiter resonated to. With the Large Learning Triangle, the Moon sextile Jupiter is at rest. Previous enhancement of talents or resources had been achieved. Here, the same type of disruption would need the Moon to work with the Sun to build upon those talents and/or resources in some way that would be acceptable to both the Moon and Jupiter. Both the North Node and the Moon helped to find solutions depending on which learning triangle learning cycle was initiated. Those solutions would initially help Parton to “heal herself” and later help heal others, given Chiron’s conjunction to Jupiter. And, of course, given the Center Core being encompassed in the figure, her furthering of her conscious identity and ability to adapt and develop her Core Self were positive manifestations of this process. As her consciousness of Self was developed, she was able to work with both the unaspected Neptune and Pluto in conscious world affirming ways which was especially relevant given their involvement in the Model Figure in the Outer Chart.

 

The Outer Chart adds a T-Square to the internal opposition of Sun/Venus with Saturn/Mars. The theme of the opposition still involves the use of that relentless drive to fulfill the purposes of the Sun/Venus to achieve productive business goals and to fulfill her personal ambition. The opposition falls on the 5th/11th house axis. The 5th house desire is to fulfill the needs for creative self-expression of the life force, to externalize one’s individual life force. This need has to be balanced by the need to utilize the life force to further societal needs, to put my life force to good use in the larger world, my community and society at large. Jupiter’s goal as the T-Square apex planet in Libra in the 2nd house is to expand relationships, talents, and other resources in order to achieve the goals of the opposition theme.  

 

Saturn’s role as an ego planet has an interesting difference in interpretation in the Inner and Outer Charts. In the Inner Chart, the opposition from Saturn/Mars to the Sun/Venus demanded that she fulfill the function of the Sun & Moon within that Inner Chart Model Figure in ways that fit her ethical standards and moralistic values. Saturn, with Mars, will have Parton wired to use her energy in ways that acknowledge her need to build her life’s work with a focus on positively impacting her community and society. This describes the approach used by the life force within the internal world. She is internally driven to follow her ethical and moral standards. In the external world, Saturn describes how Parton built her physical world. In the T-Square, Parton used Jupiter to initially build financial security in her physical world. This would be important to Saturn and Sun/Venus in Capricorn. Although many only saw her shapely curves and warm personality, she was a thoughtful visionary artist with a strong business sense. She was quoted: “As soon as I could, I started my own publishing company, got my own record label. I think it’s important, if you can, to keep all of your goods close to home where you can control them and know what’s happening to them.” She had a strong drive to succeed creatively, and to be successful in a business and financial way. As Jupiter built upon her resources, as apex T-Square planet, she built her financial empire and also met her philanthropic goals.

 

In the Outer Chart we also find a completely new Model Figure that has Mercury as the apex focal planet. Mercury is square Neptune and quincunx Uranus/Midheaven, creating the Dominant Learning Triangle. Pluto holds the fourth point as the focus of the Talent Triangle and is sextile to both Neptune and Uranus/Midheaven, which are the Talent Triangle rim planets. While Mercury holds a secondary tension spot internally, it would be considered a co-holder of the role as tension planet in the Outer Chart. Mercury both trines the Ascendant and opposes Saturn/Mars in addition to aspecting all three other points in the Model Figure. Mercury, with its straightforward linear internal wiring, becomes a driving mental force as the Outer Chart as the apex point of this new Model Figure. Mercury is in Capricorn at the cusp of the 5th house. The theme is to learn how to utilize the powerful potential use of talent and resources that Pluto makes available, and then to intelligently formulate and communicate the plan, to place into the world the results of that process. Mercury had to mentally structure and then communicate, to personally express and structure in the world, what she has creatively structured mentally. Mercury is about the capacity to conceptualize and communicate, and here it has a hard-working, well-structured Capricorn approach to communication and learning function. This Mercury focused external Model Figure had the talent and substance base, the Talent Triangle, that contained apex Pluto and rim planets Neptune & Uranus/Midheaven to work with. Neptune fed Pluto information based on its heightened perceptions and aesthetic sensitivity. It also offered glamour. It offered compassion and inspiration. Pluto understood how to use the glamor as a magnet. The compassion and inspiration were used to empower her message in all of her endeavors. Uranus/Midheaven fed Pluto information involving how it could learn to use her creative mentality, including the use of her unique and innovative talents tied to her voice and the songs she wrote, as well as using the status of a strongly positive public image to further her individuation, recognition and success. Uranus provided Pluto with her mental insight of changing trends and cultural shifts. Pluto formed this information into magnetic uses of her talent and her resources that empowered her, gave force to what Parton wished to communicate to the world. In the process, she furthered her prominence, power and influence. Pluto understood how to add magnetism. She was very adept at both conceptually creating and communicating powerful and attractive images with ever expanding success. Both learning triangles used the disruptions described by the Neptune/Mercury square aspect to build upon the purposes. Neptune’s heightened perception would trigger Mercury, which would mentally perceive some new approach or medium needing creative expression. This was done with Uranus/Midheaven, possibly by way of a new business creation, or with Pluto, possibly with synthesis of a new vision of a way to further her power or influence. Solutions would be found with each learning cycle, always expanding the areas of her success and accomplishment. 

 

The availability and use of an Inner and Outer Chart is very helpful in understanding what is going on in Dolly Parton’s life. The inner wiring capabilities of that Sun/Venus are well understood and ready to use as illustrated by the Inner Chart Model Figure. Also In that Inner Chart, Mercury is focused on simply attempting to understand how to work with the Mars/Saturn energy. Mercury then utilizes the combination of the Talent Triangle and learning triangles in the Outer Chart Model Figure to further the purposes of that over-achieving Sun by using Mercury’s ever-increasing abilities to learn and form mental concepts, and then creatively structure and use the talents that Pluto has gathered to bring those concepts into her external world. This cycle continues and builds upon those purposes. The use of the Inner Chart illustrates the inner wiring capabilities of the Sun/Venus. The Outer Chart shows how those capabilities can be put to use in the world through the continually evolving ways to conceptualize and create business models and individual creative output using both the Outer Chart Model Figure and the T-Square. The use of two charts helps to clarify the internal structure and wiring that strongly defined how Parton was internally driven to reach her dharma, and how that inner Model Figure offered the developed inner wired abilities that could be utilized in the external world functioning. It is worth stating again: There is a clear distinction between the internal purposes of the Sun/Venus, which are centered on the life path of the Sun/Venus, and the external world purposes, where the Sun/Venus purposes are centered on the T-Square drive for achievement, which built the external world structures that achieved that life path.
